DSMEE's Models

Although the club has a large focus on trains and railways, the range of modelling by members is very diverse, from railway locomotives, stationary engines, traction engines, clocks, and ships to even some of the machine tools which are required to make these models.

Our locomotives are powered by numerous means, including live steam, internal combustion, battery-electric motors and even petrol-hydraulic units. Some models are privately owned and others are club locomotives.

Every year the club holds an annual open day, in which we open up our workshop and display some of the models that members have made, as well as offering free train rides on both our larger tracks.

The society also owns multiple items of rolling stock for both tracks, including passenger cars, a specialised wheelchair carriage and some work cars, used for performing maintenance on our tracks, such as the ballast truck pictured below.
